The Eibli Angelfish, also known as the Eibl's Angelfish or Orangeline Angelfish, is a beautiful species of marine angelfish that belongs to the family Pomacanthidae. Its scientific name is Centropyge eibli. Here are some key characteristics and information about the Eibli Angelfish:

Appearance: The Eibli Angelfish has a striking coloration. It has a deep royal blue body with a vibrant orange to reddish-orange vertical band that extends from the eye to the base of the pectoral fin. The dorsal, anal, and caudal fins are also edged with the same orange color, creating a visually appealing contrast. Juvenile Eibli Angelfish have a slightly different color pattern, with black vertical stripes on a yellowish-orange body.

Size: The Eibli Angelfish typically grows to a maximum length of around 4 to 5 inches (10 to 13 cm) when fully mature.

Distribution and Habitat: This species is native to the Western Pacific Ocean, particularly found in the waters around the Indo-Pacific region. Its natural range includes the Maldives, Sri Lanka, the Andaman Sea, and various other locations in the Western Pacific. The Eibli Angelfish inhabits coral reefs and reef slopes, often being found in depths ranging from 20 to 100 feet (6 to 30 meters).

Behavior and Diet: Eibli Angelfish are generally peaceful, but they can become territorial and aggressive towards other angelfish species or similar-shaped fishes. It is best to house them in a large enough aquarium with plenty of hiding places and adequate swimming space. They are known to be reef-safe, meaning they typically do not harm corals or other invertebrates in a reef aquarium.

In their natural habitat, Eibli Angelfish primarily feed on a variety of algae, including filamentous and calcareous types. In captivity, they can be fed a well-balanced diet consisting of high-quality marine pellets or flakes, along with occasional offerings of frozen or fresh foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other small meaty items.

Aquarium Care: If you intend to keep an Eibli Angelfish in an aquarium, it is recommended to provide a tank size of at least 50 gallons (190 liters) to accommodate their swimming and territorial needs. The aquarium should have a mix of live rock and live sand to simulate a natural reef environment. Water parameters such as temperature, salinity, pH, and nutrient levels should be maintained within appropriate ranges, and regular water changes should be performed to keep the water quality high.
