Clove Polyps (Clavularia sp.)
Bright neon starbursts with an electric orange lash and deep violet base. Super clean, high-contrast colony that pops under blues and still looks sharp in daylight. Gentle sway, tons of motion—perfect “living confetti” for the scape.
Why reefers love it
Hardy, fast to settle and open
Constant movement without being demanding
Colors that stay loud under reef lighting
Frags easily for trading or filling space
Care & Placement
Lighting: Moderate (PAR ~80–180). Blues make the fluorescence go crazy.
Flow: Low–moderate, enough to keep the polyps dancing but not blasted.
Placement: Rock island or isolated ledge is ideal—Cloves can spread.
Temperament: Peaceful; give space so it doesn’t creep onto neighbors.
Feeding: Doesn’t need target feeding, but fine particulate foods and clean, stable water = faster growth.
