It has a dark bluish-black body with a broad, bright yellow band extending from the head to the base of the tail. Size: It can reach a maximum length of around 25 centimeters (10 inches) in the wild, although individuals in captivity are often smaller.
Distribution: Fowler's surgeonfish is native to the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean, specifically the eastern coast of Africa, from the Red Sea to the coasts of Mozambique and South Africa.
