The Pintail Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus isosceles, commonly known as the Isosceles Wrasse, is a beautiful and relatively peaceful species that can be a stunning addition to a reef or fish-only aquarium. Here's how to care for them:

Tank Size: Provide a tank with a minimum size of 50 gallons for a single Isosceles Wrasse, with larger tanks being more suitable for multiple individuals. They appreciate ample space to swim and explore.

Water Parameters: Maintain stable water conditions with a temperature range of 72-78°F (22-26°C), a pH level between 8.1-8.4, and a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025. Regular water testing and changes are essential for their health.

Tank Setup: Create a well-decorated environment with plenty of live rock for hiding spots, caves, and crevices. Isosceles Wrasses enjoy exploring and may appreciate areas with low to moderate flow.

Diet: Isosceles Wrasses are carnivores and should be offered a varied diet consisting of high-quality frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, and small crustaceans. They may also accept high-quality flake or pellet foods, but live or frozen foods are preferred.

Compatibility: Isosceles Wrasses are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of tank mates, including other peaceful reef fish and invertebrates. However, they may become territorial towards other wrasses or fish with similar body shapes, so monitor their behavior and provide ample space and hiding spots.

Tank Mates: Suitable tank mates include other peaceful reef fish such as gobies, smaller tangs, clownfish, and other wrasses. Avoid housing them with aggressive species or large predators that may intimidate or harm them.

Behavior: Isosceles Wrasses are active swimmers and enjoy exploring their surroundings. They may occasionally jump, so ensure the tank has a secure lid or cover.

Compatibility with Invertebrates: Isosceles Wrasses are generally reef-safe and can be kept with a variety of invertebrates, including corals, shrimp, and snails. However, exercise caution if housing them with very small ornamental shrimp, as they may be seen as prey.

By providing a suitable environment and diet, as well as compatible tank mates, you can help ensure the health and happiness of your Isosceles Wrasse.
